Hazel “Lucy” Patterson

PATTERSON  – Hazel (Lucy) Patterson, age 93, of Middleville, formerly of Cascade, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, son Kyle, siblings Junior (Ruth) Sarver, Russell (Alberta) Sarver, Dan Sarver and sister Elizabeth Booth.  Lucy was born in White Cloud, Michigan to Melvin and Naomi (Good) Sarver and moved to Caledonia spending her childhood on the family farm on Patterson Avenue.  Lucy was a graduate of the Blodgett School of Nursing and worked at both Blodgett and Mary Free Bed.  Lee and Lucy both enjoyed living on “Little Paradise Lake” in Middleville, camping, boating, waterskiing, sailing and performing music as members of the “Singin’ Strings”.  Lucy is survived by her daughter Rockie Patterson, son Randall (Ann) Patterson; granddaughters Lauren (Terry) Foster and Bethany Patterson; brother Ben (Kay) Sarver, sister-in-law Bev Sarver and many nieces, nephews and cousins from the Good, Sarver, Patterson, Schalk and Cook families.  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 14 at Cascade Christian Church Chapel,  2829 Thornapple River Dr SE, Grand Rapids.  Visitation will be 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday, October 13, at O’Brien Eggebeen Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Patterson Camp Scholarship Fund at Cascade Christian Church, 2829 Thornapple River Dr. SE. Grand Rapids, MI  49546.
