James “Ed” Edward Gahan Jr., age 85 of Parnell, passed away May 13, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Margaret Gahan Sr., sisters, Mary Jean Gahan, Joanne Gahan; and brother Roger Gahan. Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Darlene Gahan; daughters, Mary (Dale) Phillips, Lori (John) Gerard, Joy (Alan) Niemeyer, and Carol Schrenk; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Gahan; and many nieces & nephews. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Ed was also a member for 57 years of the 324 Operating Engineers Union. In his spare time he enjoyed camping trips with his fellow OE Union retirees, hunting and fishing. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson Lowell, MI 49331. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4351 Parnell Ave NE, Ada, MI 49301, with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Tom Cavera presiding. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to St. Patrick Catholic School.
