POTTER – James L. Pete, of Lowell passed away peacefully on April 4 2009 at his home after a courageous struggle with cancer. James was born in Madison WI on April 16 1949 the son of Mildred and Elvyn Potter. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mary; daughter Stephanie (Rich) Robinson; grandson Joshua son Mark; Mary’s sons David and Gary Buche; one brother Kelvin (Mindy) Potter; one sister Lois (Ron) Heffron; nieces nephews and many friends. James proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam conflict. He worked for over 30 years in the asphalt paving business from which he retired in 2005. Jim found great joy playing harmless pranks mostly on co-workers sometimes unsuspecting family. Many admired his artistry in rock carving and his love of collecting rocks especially those with prehistoric culture embedded. He often searched riverbeds searching for stone tools from earlier eras. Jim was an avid reader of both archaeology and geology publications. His love of dogs was felt by his faithful companion King an imposing black shepard. He was an emotional caring kind loving person who left us all too soon in his young life. A Military Funeral Service will be held on April 8 at at the Roth Gerst Funeral Home 30S N. Hudson Lowell with Mr. Tim Hawkins officiating.
