KORTE – Jane Lozon Korte age 95 of Grand Rapids died on October 23 2009. She was dearly loved as a wife mother grandmother great-grandmother aunt sister and friend. Surviving are 6 children Ronald (Maureen) Korte David (Reesy) Korte Karen (Rick) Rossi Dr. Paul (Patty) Korte Kathy Korte Bailey Jill (Dr. Thomas) Maatman; 32 grandchildren 45 great-grandchildren; sisters Lou Ann Davenport Betty Lozon Louiselle; her dear friend Carl Fritsch and many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her husband Anthony Albert Korte a 4 year old son Terry her parents Carl and Myrtle Lozon 2 brothers Carl and Bill Lozon one grandchild Mary Katherine and a great-grandchild Hannah Korte. Jane was a graduate of Notre Dame High School Cleveland Ohio Notre Dame College of John Carroll and received a Masters Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve Cleveland Ohio. She was President of her class throughout her college years and she lovingly earned her name SARGE from her children as she applied her leadership skills in family life. She encouraged her children in their faith and believed strongly in education and service to community. Jane served on countless church school and community organizations. Her home was always open to her children grandchildren and friends. She was an example to all that knew her and one who lived her faith. The world was better because of her. She now has her reward. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 1:30 PM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church 2750 Burton SE Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE. Rosary service will be at 7:45 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grand Rapids Right to Life or St. Paul the Apostle Education Foundation.
