Jeanne A. Greer, age 86 of Cascade, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017. Jeanne was a resident of Cascade for 60 years. After graduating from Rushville High School as Valedictorian, Jeanne went to the University of Montana, Ball State University, and then entered the teaching profession. She attended Michigan State University and received a Masters in Social Work. Jeanne worked as a truant officer for Kent Intermediate School District. The most important thing to Jeanne was her family. Jeanne was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Cross. She is survived by her children, Rhona (Dave) Paluch, Jay (Patti) Greer; grandchildren, Lindsay (Calvin) Gage, Katie (Luke) Venechuk, Jonathan Paluch, Adam and Rachel Greer; great-grandchildren, Adaline and Atlas Gage. She loved to go to estate sales and get beautiful finds for her children and grandchildren. Jeanne loved the holidays, and passed down many wonderful recipes and traditions. She was involved in her community through many groups and organizations including: The Grand Rapids Bridge Club, The French Club, The Women’s City Club, The Elks, and Ada Congregational Church. She was also an avid golfer. Jeanne leaves a legacy of love to her family and friends, and will be greatly missed. Jeanne has expressed her deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and her belief that he would receive her when her battle with cancer was over. Funeral services will be Saturday 12:00 Noon at Ada Congregational Church, 6330 Ada Dr SE, Rev. Gary Burdick, officiating with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation will also be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE. Interment Cascade Cemetery.
