Morrow, John L. peacefully passed into the arms of the Lord he loved on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was devoted to his faith, family and community. He enjoyed a long and successful career in health care. Later in life he turned his full attention to his faith community, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic parish. He also enjoyed living at Beacon Hill retirement community the past six years including benefitting from the compassionate healthcare as he progressed in his disease. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Mary Louise, children Anne Gilbert, Mark (Kathy), Patrick (Lisa), Thomas, and Peter (Lisa), fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Michael. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 9th from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd., SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 10th at 11am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 1951 Plymouth Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506, Most Rev. Bishop David John Walkowiak presiding. Family will greet friends one hour prior to Mass. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Killgoar Foundation (IHM school), and the Beacon Hill Foundation-Bridge campaign.
