John M. “Jack” Kelly, age 95, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny; granddaughter, Kimberly Driscoll; and sister, Patricia Smith. He is survived by daughters, Nancy McGuire, Patricia (John) Driscoll and Barbara Rose (Matthew Curtis) Havens; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) McGuire, Molly (Paul) Williams, Kelly (Josh) Henry,  Lisa (Mark) Morford and Christopher (Ashley) Driscoll; 16 great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews. Jack was a 1942 graduate of Grand Rapids Catholic Central and served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked and retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 30 years. Jack was also a loving husband, devoted father, and grandpa. THE BEST DAD EVER. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Jack at 11 AM on Monday, June 8 at St. Robert of Newminster Parish, 6477 Ada Drive, Ada 49301 with visitation one-hour prior. Rev. Leonard Sudlik presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jack to St. Robert of Newminster Parish.

  1. My sympathies to you all. Jack was a wonderful, kind man, father, husband, neighbor and sports enthusiast. I have fond memories of growing up with an adjoining back yard to the Kellys. I remember many picnics and volleyball games. The Tigers have lost a super fan.

  5. I didn’t know him well but met him a few times. I’m. Sure he will be dearly mist. I sent my prayers to the family.

  6. Nancy, Pat, Barb and your families. Our deepest sympathies go out to you as you grieve the passing of your father and grandfather. We always enjoyed the many conversations over the years whether they be political ,sports etc. Our prayer would be that God would grant you some form of comfort in your memories of a great guy.
