John Paul Thauer, age 67 of New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully July 29, 2022. John was preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Lucille Thauer; and brother-in-law, Jeff Gilstrap. He is survived by his seven siblings, Bill (Ginger) Thauer, Bob (Linda) Thauer, Suzanne Gilstrap, Ed (Karen) Thauer, Dianne (Rob) Nanzig, Ron (Julie) Thauer, and Tom (Kimberli) Thauer; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. John grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and graduated from Catholic Central High School. He will always be remembered for his love of family, sweet smile, and thoughtfulness.
