Lee Burks Donnelly, age 88 of Cascade, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017. She was born in Charlottesville, VA on December 30, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Nathan and Margaret Burks; and was also preceded in death by her grandson Matthew Donnelly of Atlanta, GA; and sister Louise (Jim) Bowen. She will lovingly be remembered by her children, Dr. David (Toni) Donnelly of New Bern, NC, Steve Donnelly of Atlanta, GA, Sue (Kevin) O’Hara of Charlotte, NC, Carol Keane of Ada, MI; grandchildren Sara, David, Shannon Donnelly, Douglas Donnelly, Katie O’Hara, Chase (Lizzie) Keane; great granddaughter Nina; and niece Linda Gibson of Lynchburg, VA. Lee married and started her family after graduating from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia. Lee was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She especially adored her beloved cat, Amber. Lee loved to travel and was an avid reader. Per Lee’s wishes a private family service will be held.
