GRAVELYN Lois Maxine House Gravelyn age 81 a life long resident of Grand Rapids passed away October 2 2011 at home surrounded by her devoted husband and family. Lois left her family here to join her youngest son Dan who passed away in October 2010. She was born on June 17 1930 to Ray and Grace House and was the youngest of two children. A brother Raymond predeceased her in 1986. Loiss passion in life and her greatest joy were her family. She loved her sisters-and brothers-in law and many friends. She had fun with bridge and enjoyed volunteering at the Cascade Library where her interests in children animals and the environment could be actively pursued. She worked tirelessly to make everyone in her life feel special and loved and she succeeded beyond her comprehension. You could not have known Lois without being touched by her warmth kindness and love. She will be missed. Lois is survived by her husband Wally; and her children Thomas Gravelyn of Ann Arbor David (Laurie) Gravelyn of Chelsea Michael (Maggie) Gravelyn Susan Gravelyn and her daughter-in-law Karen Gravelyn. Lois has nine grandchildren Jessy Chris Tara Jori Megan Aaron Smith Jason Smith Lauren and Sara. In a final gift to those she loved she has donated her body to medical research at Michigan State University Medical School. Lois and her family wish to thank Robin Rodgers and the caregivers at Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods for the extraordinary care and guiding Lois on her final journey. A memorial service will be held at Ada Congregational Church 6330 Ada Drive Ada MI 49301 on October 11 at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers Lois asked that you consider a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 1421 E. 12 Mile Rd., Madison Heights MI 498071 Cascade Library or Ada Congregational Church.
