Lynn Louise (Kelly) Kitts, formerly of Midland, passed away on September 13, 2012, at her home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born in Detroit on April 2, 1940, to Dorothy and Bud Kelly. Lynn attended Michigan State University where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. She worked as a Home Economics teacher for several years before marrying the late Donald Kitts in 1966. The newlyweds traveled to Hawaii on their honeymoon, and loved island life so much that they decided to stay and take up residence in Hilo, HI. Two children, Kim Meyer of Morro Bay, CA, and Nate Kitts of Grand Rapids, MI were born in Hawaii before the family relocated to Midland, MI.
An avid gardener, Lynn was an active member of the Midland Garden Club. She worked as a volunteer in the hospital gift shop and was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Lynn is survived by two children and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
