Magdaleno “Neno” Rodriguez, age 87 of Grand Rapids, died peacefully, Thursday, July 2, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Rossana; son, Ricardo, daughter, Maria; parents, Daniel and Guadalupe (Pequeno) Vargas. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Kathy); children, Arnaldo (Laura) Rodriguez, Michael (Connie) Rodriguez; stepchildren, Debbie Lee, Christopher (Helen), Scott (Florianne), Michael (Cathy), Marc (Terri) and Andrew (Lea) Burns; brothers, Daniel (Judy) Vargas, Carlos (Diane) Vargas; sisters, Mary Guajardo, Virginia (Robert) Moralez, Mary Esther Sundstrom, Gloria (Jack) Melvin; many devoted grand and great-grandchildren. “Neno” loved to play the guitar. He volunteered at several local food banks and was hired as a liason for Michigan Governor George Romney and the Michigan Migrant Workers. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2750 Burton St. SE, Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider, presiding. Entombment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE with a Rosary recited Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
