BROWN – Margaret (Peg) D. Teahen BrownPeg was born on July 14 1937 the youngest of 6 children. She was preceded in death by parents Roy and Helen Teahen brother Roy sister Helen Jean and nephew Daniel Callahan. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years John 5 children Rebecca (Timothy) Biddick Bridget (Robert) Bennett John Erin (Jos) Castillo and Patrick (Lisa) Brown nine grandchildren Kathleen Danielle Timothy Molly Margaret Marcela Shannon Conor and Caitlin sisters JoAn Payne Mary Frances French Helen ODea and Rita Teahen her loving in-laws and 28 nieces and nephews. Peg graduated from Flint St. Michaels High School in 1955 and McCauley School of Nursing as an LPN in 1958. She later earned a BS degree from Western Michigan University in Public Administration where she won the Schilling Award as the top student in her class.She worked as a nurse in Flint and Grand Rapids sold real estate with Village Belles and was an Employment Counselor for the M.E.S.C.. Peg did volunteer work for Title I and was the chairperson for The Parent Group of the Grand Rapids Public Schools in the 1970s. She had a passion for fine arts and appeared with Spectrum Theater in The Women Here are no Different and Jewish Theater Grand Rapids in Beau Jest. A poem written by her Dannie Girl described Peg as her Danger-Gramma from whom she derived her own zest for life. Peg never missed a family event whether it be wedding birthday reunion or funeral. Her beauty was obvious inside and out. She will be cherished in our memories as long as we live. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 1935 Plymouth SE Rev. Troy Nevins presiding. Interment New Calvary Cemetery Flint. Rosary will be recited 7:00 PM. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Angiosarcoma Awareness Inc., P.O. Box 570442 Whitestone NY 11357.
