Mary Catherine Kitty Campbell nee Brooks age 78 of Grand Rapids passed away May 22 2012 after a brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband James of 58 years; her children Mary Campbell of Grand Rapids Anne Kiley of Los Angeles CA and Timothy Campbell of Hollywood FL; her grandchildren Jeffrey Nina and Peter Kiley; her brothers James Brooks (Margie), Frank Brooks (Nancy), Tom Brooks Charles Brooks (Amy) and Daniel Brooks (Cathy); many nieces and nephews. Her brother Philip Brooks preceded her in death. Kitty was born in Fall River MA. She graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School. She met her husband Jim while working as a secretary with the U.S. Dept. of Justice in Detroit. She also worked as an office manager for Fletcher Realty in Grand Rapids. Kitty was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Grand Rapids. She was very active in many organizations within the Church. She also volunteered at Gods Kitchen and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Watermark Country Club. She enjoyed travel and spending time with her grandchildren. Kitty was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was an inspiration to many and will be missed by all Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 1935 Plymouth SE Rev. Troy Nevins presiding. Vigil service will be 7:30 PM. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd., SE.
