WIER – Maurice James Toby Wier Jr., aged 77 of Grand Rapids originally of Comstock Park passed away April 18 2010.He is survived by his wife of 57 years Margaret; son Maurice Jim (Edna) Wier III; grandchildren Francis (Justin) Toole Maurice Mo Wier IV Amanda Wier; special new great-granddaughter Madison Evelyn Toole; brothers Donald (Connie) Wier and David (Diane) Wier; sister Mary Ann (Carl) Mosher; sisters-in-law Mary Dood and Lois Timmer; aunts Hazel Lurtsema Marguerite Sabin and Grace Sabin and the extended Sabin family; many nieces and nephews. Toby was a life member of the Furniture City Post 258 and the Creston V.F.W. Post. He was a charter member of the Grand Rapids Naval Reserves and was stationed four years in Korea in the Navy on the USS Gloucester and the USS George. He retired from CSX Railroad after 30 years as an engineer worked at Operation Life Saver and worked many years with the Forest Hills Northern Boosters. Funeral services will be at Christ Community Church Rev. Lynne Kammeraad officiating. Interment Blythefield Memory Gardens. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd., SE.
