MARSHALL Nancy Ann Marshall age 65 of Grand Rapids MI passed away December 5 2011. She is survived by her husband Thomas R. Marshall; her sons Joseph (Marit Valla) of Bjerka Norway Michael (Mary Brogan) of Portland OR James (Jamie) of Kalamazoo MI; her grandchildren Emma and Thomas of Bjerka Senan and Aoife of Portland and Grace Simone and Vivian of Kalamazoo; her mother and father Arthur and Jean Miller of Baldwin MI; her brothers Art Miller (Liz) of Louisville KY and Dick Miller (Jan) of Branch MI; her brother-in-law Joseph Marshall (Mary) of Saginaw MI and sister-in-law Kathy Laba (Robert) of Leelenau MI; and of course her miniature schnauzer Molly. She enjoyed her job as an electronic medical records trainer and made many friends with co-workers at MMPC/Spectrum Health during her 12 years there. She was an extraordinary seamstress. Sewing was an outlet for artistic expression which accompanied an online business Marshall Arts where along with local craft shows she sold her fabric art. She liked to travel all over the world as long as the destination allowed her to visit her children and grandchildren. Every spring she looked forward to planting flowers in her garden. Many nights you could find her out for dinner and seeing a movie. She liked all movies even the bad ones Tom picked out. She and Tom were often biking during summer months. She took great pleasure in reading and shared that love with her children and grandchildren. Nancy and her family were grateful for the care received in the last year of her life from Dr. Amy Vander Woude M.D., the staff at Lemmon-Holton Cancer Pavilion the staff on fifth floor south at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital and Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids. Visitation will be held at OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Road SE on December 7 2011 from 5 pm to 8 pm and one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Saint Robert of Newminster Church 6477 Ada Drive Rev. Leonard Sudlik presiding on December 8 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 129 Jefferson Ave., SE Grand Rapids MI 49503 or Thornapple Valley Lions Club 2007 Conservation Trail Lowell Michigan 49331.
