NEUMAN – Patricia Neuman age 87 passed away suddenly at her Grand Rapids home on May 22 2010. Despite challenging ailments Pat maintained her caring nurturing role for all who knew her. Her positive outlook on life never wavered. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Neuman and her two sons Joseph and John. She is survived by her son Michael (Virginia) Neuman; daughters Sue Maddux and Patti (Bernie) Malewitz; daughters-in-law JoEllen Mooney and Jodie Neuman. Pat was very proud of her 16 grandchildren and almost 19 great-grandchildren and enjoyed each moment with them. A 1941 proud graduate of Catholic Central High School Pat served the St. Francis Xavier parish as a volunteer in many ways. Later she worked as a house mother for many years at Child Haven. She looked forward to family celebrations lunches and dinners with friends sharing home baked cookies with the grandkids and enjoyed phone calls with special relatives and friends to share past and current stories. Pats life will be celebrated with viewings on May 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Rd. SE. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM May 26 at the Cathedral of St. Andrew 265 Sheldon Blvd. SE.
