Our Heavenly Father called Peter, age 93, home Tuesday, May 7, 2013 as he heard the song “Come home, come home, all who are weary come home”. He was preceded in death by his wife Gert; granddaughters, Leslie, Missy; sisters, Gert Vos, Kathryn Stelema. He is survived by his children, Ken (Karen) Paap, Sue Leslie, Ray Paap, Nancy (Travis) Parmenter; brother, Louie Paap; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Peter was very involved as an Elder in the Ada Christian Church, Cadet Counselor for 14 years; and was active in the Ada and Cascade Historic Museums collecting photos and planting flowers, as well as the Photography Club and Dahlia Club. The family of Peter would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Emerald Meadows and Faith Hospice, their compassion was evident in everything they did. Funeral Service will be Friday 11:00 a.m. at Ada Christian Reformed Church, 7152 Bradfield, Ada. Rev. Bruce Vaandrager officiating. Interment Cascade Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids.
