Phyllis Jean Andro (Klemp), age 70, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years William Robert Andro; and her brother Bob. She is survived by her son Rob; daughter Sarah; grandchildren Sophie, Hazel, and Jasker; brother Tom; and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was born to George and Bernice Klemp of Forest Park, IL, and left DePaul University to marry her high school sweetheart, Bill. She spent her early adult years raising their family and whooping Bill in tennis, racquetball, and then golf. Complications from diabetes took her vision in 1999. She endured a kidney and pancreas transplant, multiple back surgeries, and a 2014 hemorragic stroke made her final years a struggle. A visitation for Phyllis will be held Wednesday 5-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids.
