Robert ‘Bob’ L. Meyers Sr., age 71, of Lowell, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin & Clara Meyers and his brother and sister-in-law Terry (Barbara) Meyers. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Barb; children Heather (Timothy) VanTimmeren and Robert L. Meyers, Jr.; brothers Dr. Ronald (Garnett) Meyers and Gordy Meyers; brothers-in-law Jerry (Sue) Adams and Randy (Julie) Adams; sister-in-law Cindy (Dale) Kropf; grandson Garrett Bishop and many nieces and nephews. Bob served in the Navy Reserves from 1961-1963, active duty from 1963-1966 aboard the USS Kearsarge and completed 2 tours during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Midland Police Department after 25 years. He was a Crime Prevention Officer in which he received a National Award for Excellence in Crime Prevention. A funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2700 E. Fulton St., Grand Rapids, MI 49506. Reverend Robert Linstrom officiating. Interment Libson Cemetery. Visitation Monday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell MI, as well as 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
