Ronald Sieger VanderLaan, age 77 of Kentwood, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sieger and Helen VanderLaan; brothers, Richard and Robert. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Paula “PJ”; sons, Craig VanderLaan, Kurt (Maggie) VanderLaan; daughter, Rene (Robert) Gilray; brother, Karl (Jean) VanderLaan; granddaughters, Crystal VanderLaan, Ariana and Marisa Roberts; brother-in-law, Richard (Pat) Stahl; sister-in-law, Patricia; cousins, nieces and nephews; also many very close, good friends. Ron served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a fluid power salesman for 40 years. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Funeral service will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, Pastor Dr. Phil Johnson of New Day Church on the Hill officiating. Interment Cascade Cemetery.
