Sherry (Fox) GormanAge 53 of Ada formerly of Owosso died on April 5 2011 at Butterworth Hospital in GrandRapids.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. April 9 at St. Patrick Church 4351 Parnell Ave., N.E., inAda. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Ada.Sherry’s family will receive friends at the Roth-Gerst Funeral Home 305 N. Hudson Lowell from 2 to 4p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on April 8th. Rosary will take place at8:30 p.m. on Friday.Sherry Ilene (Fox) Gorman was born in Owosso on Sept 18 1957 the fourth child of Wilfred R. Fox andPatricia Ann (Shaffer) Fox. She attended St. Paul Grade School was a 1976 graduate of Owosso High Schooland majored in accounting at Ferris State University where she earned a bachelor of science degree inbusiness administration in 1980. During the mid-1980’s Sherry became a Certified Public Accountant.On Oct. 13 1990 Sherry married Mark Gorman at an evening ceremony at St. Paul Church in Owosso.Following college Sherry consecutively served as staff accountant for Interstate Truck Lines staffaccountant for the Amway Corporation staff accountant for the C.P.A. firm Robert McBain and Associatesand senior accountant for Fox & Company Tax Attorneys. For the last ten years Sherry served asController for Grand Rapid’s Paul Goebel Group. She also did the bookkeeping for her husband’s companyGorman Builders.Sherry was consistently involved in school and church activities that were supportive of her children andthose of friends and others in the Ada and Lowell areas and she was a Girl Scout leader. She also served asSecretary-Treasurer of the Rockford Business and Professional Women’s Club and was a member of theclub’s Legislation Committee. In 1988 she was recipient of the Rockford Business and Professional Women’sClub’s Women of Achievement Award.Sherry Gorman is survived by her husband Mark Gorman; their 15 year old son Gabe; their 13 year olddaughter Shannon; her mother Patricia Ann Fox of Owosso; her father-in-law’s wife Mary (Seene) Gorman;five siblings Shaffer Fox of Owosso Mary Ann (Fox) (and Hank) Mosher of Birch Run Patrice Marie (Fox)and (and Mark) Dillow of Winthrop Harbor Ill., Erin (Fox) Freeman of Owosso and Mark Fox of Owosso;brothers-in-law Jack (Sharon) Gorman Wayne Dillon Molly (Gorman) (Brian) Vogel and 29 nieces andnephews and one grandniece.Sherry was predeceased by her father who died in 1986; father-in-law John (Mary) Gorman of Greenville;her husband’s mother Janet (Dore) Gorman; her husband’s siblings Barb (Gorman) (Gary) Bailor Brenda(Gorman) (Jeff) Campbell Mary Beth (Gorman) (Marlin) Gorey Scott (Mitzi) Gorman Greg (Rhonda)Gorman Luke Gorman (and his son Matthew Gorman), and brother Matthew Gorman.
