Stephen Cook Maier, aged 21, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 25 in Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his parents, Beth Maier and Fred and Chris Maier; his grandmother, Doris Maier, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Steve was a 2009 graduate of Lowell High School. He had a spirit that was larger than life, a tremendous love of animals, music and of all things adventurous. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a wild and energetic spirit that brought life and laughter for the years we had him. A memorial service will be held at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, on Tuesday, December 4 at 1 pm. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mackenzie’s Foundation, 8935 Thompson Rd., Lake Odessa, MI 48849.
