Steven Mead age 53 of Grand Rapids passed away May 15 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father Daniel Mead. Steven is survived by his son Daniel and Daniels mother Robin and Stevens mother Joan McFadden Mead and six brothers and sisters Ann (Tom) Ensing Jody Sheila John Patrick (Laurie) and Maureen Mead; also nine nieces and nephews as well as numerous aunts uncles and cousins. Steve was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Grand Rapids Community College. He was a good son and proud father who loved his family. He was an avid collector of memorabilia a devout fan of the Michigan State Spartans and all Detroit sports teams. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Rev. James A. Chelich presiding. Rosary will be recited 7:30 PM. Visitation 3-8 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE.
