WEIBEL – Thomas Michael Weibel age 58 of Grand Rapids passed away January 31 2010 in his home surrounded by his family and close friends. He is survived by Patricia Hawkins Weibel; children Thomas Jr., Patrick and Lillian; brothers and sisters Timothy (Shelia) Weibel Mary Jo (Tom) Sturm Jane (Lonnie) Weaver Suzanne (John) Schwartz Daniel (Colleen) Weibel and William Jr. (Tracy) Weibel along with many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father William Weibel and mother Jeanne Haessly Weibel. He was a graduate of (Grand Rapids) Catholic Central High School in 1969. He received his undergraduate degree (cum laude) from Western Michigan University in 1973 and his juris doctor from the University of Notre Dame in 1976. He was proud to spend his entire career with Smith Haughey Rice and Roegge where he was a Partner. He was a member of the American Bar Association Federal Bar Association State Bar of Michigan along with several other professional organizations. He was an active supporter of Forest Hills Central athletics especially men and womens basketball and mens golf. For seven years he was a dedicated Coach and supporter of the womens AAU basketball team West Michigan Warriors. Mass of Christian Burial will be February 4 2010 at St. Robert of Newminster Church 6477 Ada Dr., Ada with Rev. Ramil Fajardo presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 4 PM Wednesday. Visitation 12-2 and 4-7 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Rd SE.
