Wilbur Baumruk, age 87 of East Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenore Baumruk; son, Edward Baumruk; parents, Edward & Helen Baumruk; brother, Kenneth Baumruk; in laws, Edward & Lillian Skopek; and grandparents, John and Katerina Baumruk. Wilbur is survived by his son, Ray (Suzanne) Baumruk; grandchildren, Jack Baumruk, Spencer Baumruk; sister-in-law, Corrinne (Dennis) Widlock; brother-in-law, Edward Skopek; nieces & nephews, William (Theresa) Baumruk, Ed Baumruk, Cheryl (Tom) Hanyzewski, and Erica (Ken) Barta; and close friend, Susan Fowler. Wilbur graduated from Purdue University in 1954. He was the plant manager for Mid-America Potato Co. for 20 years, then a consultant for another 15 years before retiring in 2011. Wilbur was a member of the East Grand Rapids High School Athletic Boosters, on the football chain gang, and did books for boys’ and girls’ basketball for over 20 years. He loved spending time with his family and expansive circle of friends at home, beach, sporting event, and his favorite restaurants (Great Lakes Shipping Co., Marco’s, and Pietro’s). A celebration of his life visitation will be held 5-8pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.   1. I have many memories of Wilbur and Bob both my cousins. We spent Christmases, birthdays and holidays together very often since we both lived in Berwyn Illinois. I was three years older than Wilber and one year younger than Bob and we liked to play games especially playing teacher and blind man’s bluff in the basement. He will be missed.

    So sorry for your loss, it was a pleasure knowing your dad and of cause your mother from years back. We tend to forget how far back we go, time flies past sooo fast..god bless!!
