William Allen Hoffhines, age 76 of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 14, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna; children, Michael (Dr. Marilyn Wright) Hoffhines, Mark (Abby) Hoffhines, Daniel (Heather) Hoffhines; sisters, Sally (Hugh) Wright; sister-in-law, Lois (Ronald) Harbert; grandchildren, Matthew, Carl (Katherine), Adam, Kyle, Everett and Anderson. Bill was a graduate of Battle Creek Lakeview High School class of 1954, and also a proud graduate of U of M 1958. Bill was an avid golfer, a member of Kent Country Club for 25 years. In later years he could be found most of the summer at Thousand Oaks. During his life he was honored at Battle Creek Lakeview High School as a Sports Hall of Fame member. He was on the board of directors at Butterworth Hospital, President of Kent County American Cancer Society, and a board member of the YMCA. He worked his entire life in banking, 17 years at Michigan National as a senior vice president, and 5 years as president of Kentwood Savings and Loan, finishing his career at First Federal of Michigan. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 20 1:00 p.m. with Visitation 11:30-1:00 at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids, Rev.
