William C. “Bill” Peterson, of Grand Rapids, May 16, 1939 – December 24, 2020. Loving brother and uncle passed away. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Peterson; sister, Judith McSorley; and brother, Robert Peterson. He is survived by his sister, Carlene (Miron) Stolaruk; and brother-in-law, John D. McSorley; nephews and nieces, Jeff Stolaruk, Randy (Kazumi) Stolaruk, Todd (Feifei) Stolaruk, Daniel (Dana) McSorley, Sean McSorley, Darrin (Donna) McSorley, John (Christy) McSorley, Patrick (Cynthia) McSorley, Carole Jensen, Andy (Karen) Peterson, Faye (Corey) Rehse, and many grand nephews and nieces.
Bill was a 1957 graduate of Union High School Grand Rapids, enlisted the following year in the United States Army and served in Korea. Afterwards he was employed and worked 38 years at Miller Products, Inc. in Grand Rapids.
Bill was a lifelong fan of professional baseball (Detroit Tigers), football (Detroit Lions) and hockey, with the Detroit Redwings being his favorite. He was also active in golf and bowling and was involved in leagues for both.
He was cremated per his wishes and a private service has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 27777 Franklin Rd. #1150 Southfield, MI 48034.
