Wilma Therese Feather (Fox)

Wilma Therese (Fox) Feather, age 85 of Grand Rapids, died Wednesday, December 2, 2020.  Wilma was born in Pewamo, Michigan in 1935.  She graduated from Portland St. Patrick’s Catholic High School in 1953.  Wilma went on to work in the offices at Oldsmobile Corporation in Lansing where she met her future husband Dan at a dance at Michigan State and later married in 1961.  Once married they moved to Berrien Springs where they owned and worked on a Fruit Farm.  After a couple moves, they landed in Hastings, Michigan.  Wilma became active at St. Rose of Lima church for 40 years doing the bookkeeping for several years and participating in guilds.  She went on to work at Hastings Manufacturing as a secretary and administrative assistant for the last 25 years of her career. Wilma loved bird watching, flowers, gardening, baking, and music. She could often be found baking an apple pie or a tasty confection while listening to polkas and keeping an eye out for cardinals and other songbirds on the feeders. Wilma had a very kind heart and enjoyed helping others right up to the end. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Cornelia Fox, brother Jim Fox, and her husband Daniel Feather.  Wilma is survived by her children, Cindy (Larry) Bronkema and Greg (Amy) Feather; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Connie Owen, Maryanne Thelen, and sister-in-law Josephine Fox and several nieces and nephews.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 9 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1935 Plymouth SE, Rev. Troy Nevins, presiding with visitation one-hour prior.  COVID protocols of wearing masks and social distancing will be enforced.   Internment at Resurrection Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, 25200 Telegraph Rd. Ste 100, Southfield, MI  48033-7443.
